2009 Membership Show Prospectus

                 October 30th to December 9th, 2009

AWARDS: $2000 in cash awards.

ELIGIBILITY: open to members in good standing of the Pastel Society of Oregon. Work must be original and at least 80% soft pastel. All work must have been executed within the past 3 years and not previously been shown in any PSO Exhibitions. No work from a classroom workshop, or published photograph or artwork. Accepted works must be identical to juried slides.

FRAMING: All work must be framed with a strong wire for hanging. Flat hangers only-no screw eyes. No uni-frames. Maximum size 36" and a minimum size of 14".including frame.

LIABILITY: Works will be insured while hanging in the show for the designated sale price minus the gallery's commission. Neither PSO nor its officers are liable. No responsibility will be assumed for lost works or damaged works while in transit. Works arriving in poor condition will be returned to the artist at the artist's expense. Your entry constitutes and agreement with the above.

COMMISSIONS: All works must be for sale. A 20% commission for the Whipple Gallery will be retained on all accepted works sold during
and prior to the show.

CALENDAR:

August 17th----------------slides/CD Deadline
September 23rd ---------notification of accepted work
October 23rd -------------artwork delivery deadline
Artist's Reception--------with notification
December 9th-------------close of show
December 11th-----------pick up artwork

ENTRY: By slides/CD submission. 35 mm color slides must be standard 2x2 size, labeled with artist's name, name of artwork, size and price. No glass mounts or tape on slides. CD's labeled with artist's name, name of artwork, size and price. CD's and slides will be kept for PSO records.
ENTRY FEE: Members  $25 for 5 slides/or 5 CD digital images.
HANGING/HANDLING FEE: $10 for each accepted painting.
SHIPPING/HAND DELIVERED: By October 23rd, 2009, to Umpqua Community College, 1140 Umpqua College Road, Roseburg, OR, 97470.Hours 8A-4P
NOTE:YOU MUST INCLUDE RETURN POSTAGE FOR SHIPPED ARTWORK.
